This amazing cultivar came to the US in the 1800's and was called Zinfandel. In Italy is it known as Primitivo and in Croatian it is known as Crljenak Kaštelanski (Churl-yen-ic Caskl-on-ski). Whatever you call it, it can be wonderfully delicious. Ours has aromas and flavors of dried plum, cherry, vanilla and oak. Bright wine with gentle tannins.
